August 10, 2009

Oh, what a busy weekend. First things first, Mason & Moses survived their check-ups at the Doctor. Poor May Bug had to get four shots, usually I wouldn't have him get that many, but it was his last four until he is 11 years old, yeah for May. With a little bribing (Star Wars Sword & ice cream), Mason bravely conquered two shots in each arm. They were very sore for the next two days, but it was nothing that some Motrin couldn't handle.

Saturday was a very busy grocery shopping day, I stocked up on all of the essentials, new school shoes for the boys, a big trip to Costco & target. Then I came home & stacked wood for the winter, I think we have enough for the next three winters, better safe than sorry, memories of the seven days without heat when we lost power in December are still fond, thank goodness for our new wood stove.

Sunday was a day to get things done around my little farm. I made my first batch of Blackberry Jam and it actually turned out! Hope it tastes OK. Next will hopefully be green beans & salsa.

Sunday was also the day cleaning the animals pens, hanging a ton of laundry, trying to clean the house, and tending to the garden. I've included pics of the garden, I am a proud mom! Although small I think this is the best garden of mine to date.

I also want to share another picture with you from this weekend, Tyson & I went up to the clear cut and this is what we came across. You know how much I love wasps & hornets, the largest paper nest that I have every seen.
